Known for its research, its innovation and the breadth of its artistic palette, the Voetvolk duo comprising the choreographer and dancer Lisbeth Gruwez and the musician, composer and DJ Maarten Van Cauwenberghe, burst onto the stage with musicians and dancers. Together they embody the groove and share the energy of rock at the intersection of the repetitive rhythms of Can and the frenetic beats of the Chemical Brothers. It begins as a concert but performance quickly takes over with its crazy imaginative power, its sophisticated staging and its lighting effects. It seems like the promise of a collective leap into limbo: a boundlessly energetic, frenzied, percussive, powerful world where each participant galvanises the others: musicians, dancers and spectators.
